THIS IS MORE THAN A TRIP—IT’S A CELEBRATION, A MISSION, AND A MOVEMENT. UNITE WITH BLACK REHAB PROFESSIONALS TO LEARN, GROW, GIVE BACK, AND EXPERIENCE THE MOTHERLAND LIKE NEVER BEFORE.

A journey to the motherland - This is not just a trip

For five years, Black in Rehab has been more than a community—it has been a movement. A space where Black Occupational, Physical, and Speech Therapists, Assistants, and Students come together to be seen, heard, and empowered. It has been a place of celebration, advocacy, and mentorship, fostering both personal and professional growth for Black rehabilitation professionals across the country. Now, for our 5th Anniversary, we are taking that mission beyond borders—to Ghana, the Motherland.

This is not just a trip. This is a reunion with our heritage, a journey of healing, and a celebration of our legacy. As Black rehabilitation therapists, we are dedicated to restoring movement, voice, and independence in our profession, and now, we take that same spirit to Ghana—to reconnect, to learn, and to honor the resilience of our people.

Together, we will walk through the historic halls of Cape Coast and Elmina Castles, standing where our ancestors stood, feeling the weight of history while reclaiming our power. We will immerse ourselves in Ghanaian culture, exchanging knowledge with local healthcare professionals, learning from traditional healers, and gaining a deeper understanding of the global impact of rehabilitation and wellness. We will explore bustling markets, savor authentic cuisine, dance to the rhythm of African drums, and celebrate our bond as Black professionals in a way that only we can.

This is more than a retreat—it’s a milestone, a movement, and a moment to embrace all that we are and all that we are becoming. We are not just traveling; we are expanding our reach, strengthening our community, and stepping boldly into the future—together. Ghana is calling. Will you answer?

We founded Black in Rehab with one mission in mind—to create a safe, empowering space for Black rehabilitation professionals to connect, grow, and give back.

As dedicated Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists, we’ve seen firsthand the need for a stronger, more visible Black presence in our field. Through retreats, mentorship, and community building, we’ve fostered a network of support that uplifts, educates, and inspires.

But our purpose doesn’t stop here. We believe in taking our impact beyond borders. That’s why we’re bringing our mission to Ghana, the Motherland—where healing, culture, and purpose unite.

For us, travel is about more than just exploring new places—it’s about creating lasting connections, sharing knowledge, and leaving a meaningful legacy. This journey to Ghana is a celebration of our history, a commitment to our profession, and a call to serve.

We invite you to join us as we honor our roots, uplift our profession, and make a difference—one journey at a time.
